Pet Therapy:
This week our DeCaf champions Amy and Ann brought along four of their puppies to visit of DeCaf dementia cafe, where our guests delighted in their loveliness (see pic above, go on delight in the lovliness!). Their visit led to lots of discussion around who had dogs in their childhood and the various breeds of dog that are popular. The puppies are a hard act to follow but Peter, a visiting volunteer from Benefacto, put on a great show working his way around the room looking after all the guests and even though he said he was unlikely to he had a dance too! Thank you Peter.
Welcome Jana!

A big welcome to Jana who is joining us here at Ashford Place to gain some work experience in cleaning. We always need an extra pair of hands and she has gotten off to a great start, helping to keep our mezzanine spick and span. We hope the skills she gains here will provide a path for her into employment. She is receiving employment support from Royal Mencap and was joined this week by some of their staff to help her settle in. Thanks to Mencap for introducing Jana to us, as she is already proving to be a great asset to our organisation.
Ashford Place provide employment support for those experiencing mental health difficulties.
This includes supporting people into pre-employment activities, education/training, volunteering and work. To find out more please get in touch with Cristin (Cristin.oleary@ashfordplace.org.uk)
