Spark Unlimited Has Ceased Game Development - News

Spark Unlimited (Lost Planet 3, Legendary, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z) has announced that it will no longer develop video games. This brings the company's 11 year run in the inudstry to an end.

John Butrovich, chief technical officer at Spark Unlimited, confirmed the news to Polygon. Although the company will continue to exist, primarily in the movie industry, all of its video game projects have been cancelled and its studio staff laid off.

Strange developer, one of those where the graphics and such were fine but it needed better game designers and game directors. Hopefully the talented ones remain in the industry where as the others move on into another sector. Just because it's your dream to make games doesn't mean you have the talent to do so.

All I know about them was that Lost Planet was "meh" and Yaiba was terrible.
Always said to see another studio close or get absorbed into EA... then closed.

Yaiba and Legendary were awful. I recently purchased Lost Planet 3, which seems okay. Cant say they will be missed.

Low-quality western outsource team goes under. I cant say that Im sad. Never the less best of luck to all people in need for a job :-)
