Grml 2012.05 released with NUMA tools
The grml project has released version 2012.05 of their multi-purpose Live CD distribution aimed at administrators. The latest release is code-named "Ponyhof" and brings a refresh of many of the included packages as well as a new numactl option in the grml-hwinfo tool to extract information from systems using the Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) architecture.
Grml 2012.05 uses version 3.3.7 of the Linux kernel and its ssh boot facility now generates a password for both the grml and root users. Additionally, the new default mount target for the rescue system is /media. The developers have removed the grml-feedback tool, which was a new addition in grml 2011.05, without giving a specific reason for dropping it. The grml Live CD distribution is based on Debian and is available to download for 32- and 64-bit systems as two variants in this release: grml-full (350MB) and grml-small (150MB). A combined image which supports both architectures can also be downloaded for each variant.
