Missing Bellbrook girl in custody in Illinois

UPDATE @ 11 a.m. (July 2): Bellbrook Police Det. Tony Vetter confirms that Savannah Swartz is suspected of being involved in other criminal activity in the Quincy area, though it is unknown at this time if she is a victim or a suspect. Bellbrook Police said they are pursuing an unruly juvenile charge against Swartz. She is being handed over to her parents, likely Friday, and be returned to Bellbrook to meet with police.

UPDATE @ 10:35 p.m. According to the Quincy, Ill., police department, Savannah Swartz was found about 2 p.m. in the 900 block of North 4th Street in the city.

The department, in a news release,on June 24 asked the public for help in locating the girl. On Wednesday, somebody saw her on North 4th Street. Police, responding to the area, located her.

She was taken into protective custody and will be released pending notification of family members.

UPDATE @ 10:20 p.m. (July 1): The Quincy Herald-Whig is reporting that Savannah Swartz, reported missing since mid June, was found about 2 p.m. by Quincy police.

UPDATE @ 6 p.m. (June 17): An arrest warrant has been issued for a 14-year-old girl last seen Monday in Warren County.

Police in Bellbrook continue to search for Savannah Swartz, who now faces an unruliness charge, Bellbrook police Sgt. Keith Salyers said.

Anyone who has information about the teen’s whereabouts is urged to contact their local police agency.

UPDATE @ 11:26 a.m. (June 16): Police in Bellbrook continue to search for 14-year-old Savannah Swartz and are following leads that she was seen at a local restaurant Monday night, and may be staying with friends in a Warren County community.

Police said the family has provided a more up-to-date photo of Savannah in hopes that someone will recognize her and call police.

Bellbrook police are looking for a 14-year-old Bellbrook girl reported to be missing and are asking the public for help.

Savannah Swartz was last seen at a family gathering Sunday on Brookwood Drive in Bellbrook, police said Monday.

She is 5 foot 4 inches tall, about 150 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, denim shorts with holes in one leg, black-and-white boots and bracelets. According to police, she has two piercings in her lower lip.
