 CAA Co-Players of the Week Nominees: Ryan LaGrange, INF, Jr., Wilmington, N.C./Laney // Michael Bass, INF, Sr., Fairmont, N.C./Fairmont

- Ryan extended his hitting streak to 10 games after hitting in all four games last week to the tune of a .722 average (13-for-18) with four runs scored, three doubles and six runs batted in. He drew two walks and was hit by a pitch. His slugging percentage was .889 and on base average was .762. LaGrange had four hits and three runs batted in in a key non-conference win at East Carolina and he followed that up with four more hits in the series opener against GMU. During his 10-game hitting streak, he's hitting .537 (22-for-41) with four doubles.

- Michael keyed the Seahawks at the top of the order with a .647 batting average (11-for-17) while scoring five runs, hitting four doubles and driving in five runs. Bass went 4-for-5 in stolen bases to raise his season total to 19. Against ECU, he singled twice, scored and knocked one in. In the final two games at GMU, he collected four hits in each game, scored four runs and stole three bases.

CAA Pitcher of the Week Nominee: Mat Batts, RS-Jr., LHP, Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor (Western Carolina)

- Batts earned his sixth win of the season with another solid outing against George Mason. In 6.2 innings, Batts fanned seven and allowed two runs, one earned, in five innings and walked two. He lowered his ERA to 2.28 as that mark has dropped in each of his last five starts.

CAA Rookie of the Week Nominee: none

Record Watch: Hunter Ridge, who became UNCW's all-time hits leader in March, is poised to take the lead in RBI's. He enters the week tied for the all-time lead with 182 RBI. Jonathan Batts (2004-07) set the school career record with 182 while former standout Matt Wright (2000-03) is now third with 180 … Michael Bass (19-for-20) is fifth with 69 stolen bases and will become the fifth player to steal 70 career bases with his next swipe.

Streaks: Michael Bass extended his on-base streak to 37 games, second all-time at UNCW behind Nate Hall's 43-game streak in 2008 … Luke Dunlap pushed his hitting streak to a career-long 11 games while Ryan LaGrange moved to 10 and Terence Connelly tied his career-best at 10 games.

Domination on the mound: The Seahawks posted a 4-0 mark last week with all wins on the road as UNCW is in the midst of an eight-game road stretch. The pitching staff allowed just nine runs last week and compiled an even 2.00 ERA while limiting opponents to a meager .237 batting average. In three appearances, Jack Lane allowed 2 hits over 5.2 innings of relief while Ricky Holden fashioned a 2.45 ERA in two relief appearances. Kelly Secrest earned a save and struck out six in 2.1 innings over three relief appearances. UNCW's starting pitchers have posted a 2.83 ERA and a 19-8 record with opponents hitting .243.

Ramsey Update: Jordan Ramsey was removed from Saturday's game after being hit in the shoulder with a line drive in the second inning. He was alert and left the field under his own power and is listed as day-to-day.

Notes: The Seahawks captured their fourth straight conference series and their third sweep (Ga. State, ODU, George Mason) … Over the past one-plus seasons in conference play, UNCW is 36-6 … UNCW opened an 8-game road stretch with four straight wins … The Seahawks are 9-4 on the road this season … The Seahawks swept East Carolina for the first time since 2003 with a 7-2 win in Greenville earlier in the week … UNCW is 9-1 in its last 10 games and has dropped consecutive games just twice this season … Michael Bass had a streak of 31 consecutive stolen bases snapped in Saturday's game against George Mason … Jack Lane is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA in six career appearances against GMU, covering 12.2 innings, and has limited the Patriots to a .225 batting average.
