September 1st: Prospecting Customers And Refining Your Business Model

UNO, College of Business Administration, Mammel Hall, Omaha (8:30 am - Noon)

Learn how to identify potential customers and get the most from your Lean Business Model. Determine pivot points and how to meet changes in the marketplace.


September 13th: Cost Proposal Tips: Managing Money For Your SBIR Proposal

Nebraska Innovation Campus, Lincoln (8 am - 12 pm)

SBIR funding can accelerate development of your innovation- but you must have a good proposal with a budget that matches the work to be done. Learn how to create an accurate, defensible cost proposal that protects your investment. Following workshop, meet 1-on-1 with the presenter Jim Greenwood, national SBIR consultant, to review your proposal.

One-on-one consultation with Jim Greenwood 1pm - 4:30 pm (limited to 6 - 8 meetings)

Anyone interested in proposal reviews, or answers to specific SBIR/STTR questions from Jim Greenwood must provide NBDC’s Wei Jing with the “quad chart and SBIR experience” before the workshop. Registration will be closed August 31st. Attendees will be notified the week of September 1st if they have been assigned one –on-one meeting time. The registration fee will be refunded if not selected for a meeting.

While one-on-one consultation occurs, participants can learn from local SBIR successes through a free panel session, from 1pm - 3pm.

Additionally, Hancock is trained in the Lean Launchpad (LLP) methodology, has lead multiple LLP cohorts, and has advised several NSF iCorp companies.

Learn how the development needed to commercialize your innovation fits into a larger business model. Learn how to fully recover costs and identify a logical commercialization path. Following workshop, meet 1-on-1 with the presenter Jim Greenwood, national SBIR consultant, to review your proposal.

Learn how to prepare a script and conduct follow-up calls to potential custoemrs. The session will finish with a sales call contest in which you will present your call script to panel of expert judges.
