Phenomenal book on cyber security, startups and the world of cyber crime. It's a very quick read that gives a nice foundation into cyber security...

Who the biggest cyber criminals are in the world.
What startups are building innovative cyber security products.
Where the cyber threats are coming from and how America is, or isn't responding, to attacks.
When these cyber crimes started taking place.
Why Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and IT professionals must be on alert from cyber attacks.

Overall, I enjoyed reading about cyber security in this book and believe that Ross Blankenship - the venture capital expert and cyber security expert - knows how to get the conversation started. The final part of the book on recommendations to protect America by use of legislation and enterprise defense, make a lot of sense.

Tedious and geeky!

Don't let anyone tell you different! It's foundational and Mr. Blankenship informs us in Cyber Nation how the various parts and functions of our economic system fits the age-old maxim: The Best Defense is a Great Offense.

I hear about these cyber attacks and breaches almost weekly, how someone --a hostile entity-- has breached the cyber walls of even the governments most secure systems... to say nothing of their invasion of America, Inc.. Data stolen, much-much money involved. What do we do?

Well, if the folks in charge are on top of the game then they've already paged through a copy of this book. The author tells us who are the most wanted hackers, their methods, targets & launching points for the attacks, etc.. Really a complete run-down of what's what & who's who in this shadowy world.

Then we are given the side of the good guys: Cisco, Oracle, HP, IBM, MS...companies who's names are household words, The Posse! But we must help, and are given the necessary information to take an active part in this fight by safe-guarding our own privacy. And perhaps the biggest part of that is: How can we best invest in cyber security so that we can keep up and even stay ahead when these attacks are launched.

I highly recommend this as vital reading.
