THE mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Coun Malcolm Gunter, is set to have a busy week.

On Wednesday, October 22, he will present awards at Ysgol Hendre Residential School’s annual presentation, Main Road, Bryncoch.

And on Thursday, October 23, the mayor will join the 100th birthday celebrations of Gwendoline Baggridge, of Cardonnel Court Nursing Home, Cardonnel Road, Skewen. He will later present awards at Cefn Saeson School’s achievement evening.

The deputy mayor will be at Dwr y Felin prize giving, at Neath College, Main Hall, Dwr y Felin Road, Neath.

On Friday the mayor will attend the launch of the 2008 RBL Poppy Appeal, at the Guildhall, Swansea. He will also be at the centenary celebration party, at Old Eastern School, Margam Road, Taibach, and will later give a speech at NPT Access Managed Services, at the Orangery, Margam Park, Margam.

Then on Saturday, Coun Gunter will host a reception in his parlour, in Port Talbot, prior to Port Talbot Cymric Male Voice Choir’s annual concert in Princess Royal Theatre.

Sunday sees the mayor at the mayor and mayoress of Pembrokeshire County Council’s civic service, at St Mary’s Church, Newport, Pembrokeshire, followed by tea at Llangwait Manor, Newport.
