Volunteer Registration for Citizenship Workshop on 4.26.14
The New Americans Campaign project is holding a Citizenship Workshop on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The Citizenship Workshop will be at San Jose City College, Tech Building (corner of S. Bascom and Moorpark Ave.), 600 South Bascom Ave., San Jose, CA 95128 from 9 AM to 4 PM.  During the workshop, we will assist lawful permanent residents with the naturalization process.  We are recruiting community members, attorneys, paralegals, translators, law students, high school and college students to volunteer for the event.  

To volunteer, please do the following: (1) Sign up by registering below; and (2) Attend one of four volunteer trainings at the ALA office, 991 W. Hedding Street, Suite 202, San Jose, CA 95126. Please attend ONE volunteer training session either on April 7 at 6 PM, April 14 at 6 PM, April 19 at 10 AM, or April 22 at 6 PM.

The project is sponsored by the Santa Clara County Citizenship Collaborative: Asian Law Alliance (ALA), Catholic Charities, CET’s Immigration & Citizenship Program, Office of Human Relations, Services Immigrant Rights & Education Network (SIREN), San Jose/Evergreen Community College District, One Justice, American Immigration Lawyers Association – SCV (AILA-SCV), St. Francis Center.

The Citizenship Workshop has different stations and we would like to assign volunteers to the stations that would best suit their skills. However, the assignments also depend on the number of volunteers and the positions we need to fill. It is possible that you will not be assigned to your first choice.
WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO VOLUNTEER?
For morning and all day volunteers, please arrive by 8:30AM for a quick review before the workshop starts. Lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided!

CAN YOU ATTEND ONE TRAINING SESSION? *
We will be having FOUR (4) volunteer training sessions. Please attend ONE (1) session at the ALA office, 991 W. Hedding Street, Suite 202, San Jose, CA 95122 either on April 7 at 6 PM, April 14 at 6 PM, April 19 at 10 AM, or April 22 at 6 PM. Training is mandatory.
