Malvika Raj Joshi, a 17-year-old, home-schooled girl from Mumbai, has procured admission into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The institute has provided her a scholarship on the basis of her being a three-time medal winner at the International Olympiad in Informatics. Joshi did not get into Indian institutes like IIT due to not having conventional class X or XII certificates.
