Margaret Atwood's New Book is Made of Straw
Posted on October 14, 2011
Margaret Atwood is trying to pioneer a movement to have books printed on paper made from straw instead of trees. She is releasing a special limited-edition run of her new book, In Other Words, on Second Harvest Paper. Second Harvest Paper is a paper product made by Canadian environmental group Canopy using 36% leftover straw and 64% recycled paper.
Margaret Atwood said in a statement, "I joined Canopy in this trial to show that we can meet our paper needs using low-footprint straw instead of relying on endangered forests. Second Harvest Paper is the kind of practical innovation that could make paper from endangered forests ancient history."
