England won by sixteen points and in doing so clinched the Cook Cup with a victory over Australia’s Wallabies in the Test at AAMI park on Saturday night.

After already winning the first Test against Australia at Suncorp Stadium a week earlier, the English claimed an uncatchable lead in this series with their win in Melbourne.

Unlike the previous week it was the English who raced out to an early lead, and they maintained it throughout the game, with Australia failing to catch the deficit at any point.

Although the bridge to be gapped was short enough for most of the night, the English pulled away late to make it a sure thing and record of a win of a sizeable margin.
