28 Days Of Spring Fashion (Day 16)

It’s Day 16 of my 28 Days of Spring Fashion and today I’m styling a denim jumpsuit.

First, let me address my email yesterday that I sent out and the “Click here to read the post” couldn’t be clicked. That was totally my fault!

If someone had taken a picture of me, this is what I would have looked like. My head on my desk. I was very frustrated with myself!

28 Days Of Spring Fashion (Day 16)
My blog posts are sent out to over 8,000 women (crazy!) so you can imagine that I was frustrated. You might not know this, but I pay for that email service every month. It needs to be done right and it needs to be working.

Thank you all for emailing me and letting me know!! You are so sweet and I’m honored that you even want to read my blog. I don’t take that lightly.

I know you get a lot of emails and so I want you to know how much I appreciate you subscribing to my blog!

I did it right today so if you can’t click it, please let me know, I will get it fixed. 🙂

Also, several of you had emailed me about wanting the dates back on my posts. You should be seeing the date now! I do love to hear from you and I like to know what you like and even what you don’t like.

I can’t always change everything but I do try and I write down posts you would like to see, ideas you have, etc. I really do appreciate your opinions!

Okay, lets get to some spring fashion! One of the spring trends I’m seeing everywhere are jumpsuits. Now before you say NEVER, give it some time.

They might grow on you. I’ve learned to never say never!

To prepare you, here are some jumpsuits I found online. Jumpsuits in general are popular, they don’t have to be denim.

28 Days Of Spring Fashion (Day 16)

I purchased my denim jumpsuit at LOFT. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to style it but I finally decided to go with a wedge heel and my long necklace.

28 Days Of Spring Fashion (Day 16)
I think I would like silver jewelry with this denim jumpsuit. Stella & dot has this necklace in silver and I think I might break down and purchase it. This is my favorite long necklace.

I’ve seen this jumpsuit styled with loafers, converse sneakers and high heels. I think they all look good.

Do you think you might style a jumpsuit this spring/summer?

  1. Well that brings back memories for me. I loved wearing jumpsuits when I was a teenager and young adult(not that I am not a young adult now, just in my early fifties.) I had one a little like that one and wedge heels too. May I say the jumpsuit looks great on you. I might try wearing one again.

  2. You look cute Cyndi but there are some styles that should stay in the past. This is one of them!! Earth shoes is another!!

  3. Yay, I didn’t have any problems opening your email this morning, but lots of ads as I scrolled down. Thank You, for taking the time to make sure we don’t miss anything from your AWESOME blog!!
I’ve noticed all the jumpsuits in the stores lately. I remember wearing them in the 80’s! I really like the one you styled. You’re right, never say never!!

  4. I think there are much more flattering outfits than jumpsuits and who wants to wrestle with one when it’s time to head to the ladies’ room?

  5. Cyndi, so glad you are getting the kinks fixed from the past few days. I do have one suggestion….if you could fix it. When I go to click on the link you post to take you to an other site (ie. the jumpsuit site) I “lose” your site and can’t toggle back to your site to look at the other items you have listed and their links (ie. the Stella and Dot necklace, the wedges, etc.) I always end up having to backspace or opening a new window or reopening your blog to look at the other items. Does this make sense?Love, love your blog and enjoy each and every post I receive!!!!

  6. Cyndi – i’m so excited I found your blog! I have never been good with fashion (kind of a jeans & t-shirt girl). For the past 10 years, my job title is “cleaning lady”. My work fashion consists of yoga pants & tshirts. After work, I run my errands looking like I came from the gym (but worse- I have bleach stains on my pants!) So, when I go out with my husband or friends, I want to look stylish & confident. You have given me inspiration to buy some new items for my wardrobe. Thank you! I especially liked the outfit with the green sweater & also the pink gingham top with jeans. I just bought a pretty pink scarf to accessorize with. I never felt I could feel comfortable with a scarf, but now I do thanks to you! Keep on inspiring!

  7. Your blog looks normal on my iPad but on my phone it is so filled with ads that it’s hard to read! Please change back to the normal format!!

    1. Thank you Susie!! Yes I think it runs big, I’m wearing a small but i think the xsmall would be too tight in the bottom area for me.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  8. Hey Cyndi, no problems opening the blog today on my laptop, but there were ads throughout on my phone 🙂 I love your blog and I love the jumpsuit, it looks great on you. I have to say again how thankful and appreciative I am for all the hard work and effort you put into your blog for us, you give such great ideas on style and grace, I really enjoy Beauty for the Heart, Have a great night! 🙂

    1. Thank you Debbie! I’m working (well I’m not, I’ve got people) on the mobile site. Sorry about the ads!! Hopefully I can get it fixed soon.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  9. I thought I was doing something wrong! LOL So happy I could click on today because I look forward to reading your blog every day!

  10. You rock it, cyndi but I’m with everyone else who doesn’t want the hassle in the restroom. I think if I did try, I might add a scarf or something for color. For now I think I will leave the style to fashionistas and convicts!

  11. You just inspired me to get a jumpsuit for an upcoming trip to Vegas. Thinking all an all black one and wedges as I am on the short side.

  12. Cyndi, I never received the usual e-mail from you today with your blog link. I just typed in your site address to read it. And the ads I mentioned yesterday are everywhere throughout your post and pictures, breaking it up rather than coming at the end like they usually do. Just thought I’d mention these things. Not sure if it’s trouble on my end or not. Thanks!

    1. Suzanne I’ll make sure you’re added to my email. Are you looking at it on your phone?? I’m trying to get that fixed.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. Thank you for your response! I usually get your e-mails with the link, but today I didn’t receive one. Yes, I’m looking at your blog from my iPhone. Thanks for all you do! What an awesome site, and your followers are now legion!

  13. Bathroom issues prevail on this one. I don’t care how good they might look, they are not for me!! I remember them from back then!!!

  14. Hi Cyndi.

The link worked for me today. 🙂

I love jumpsuits! I think they look so pulled together. Target has several cute black jumpsuits. I”m thinking of purchasing one of those. I love #2 you have pictured above, but it is sold out.

  15. Cyndi,
I have seen the jumpsuit on the Loft website and wasn’t really impressed until I read your post and saw you in it! Wow! You look amazing and so much better than the model on the website! It made me want to get one but am going to wait on them to go on sale. I had one just like it in the 80’s and loved it.
Thanks for you blog. I look forward to reading it every day!
    Amy

    1. Amy,

I really think these jumpsuits are one of those ” just try it on because it may look better than hanging on the rack” kind of things!

      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  16. Cyndi,
Thank you so much for this precious, encouraging and up lighting blog that you provide. I have always loved fashion, and found it pretty effortless to look nice. Then I turned forty, started teaching after 20 years as a stay-at-home mom, and all of a sudden I was uncertain how to look professional, cute, and young:-). I would purchase clothes, to find out they are too uncomfortable to wear all day. So for about a year, I was really lost on what I should purchase. To be honest, all the daily routine changes, left me too drained to figure out how to dress at 40.
Your posts have got me excited about clothes, and helped me envision exactly the look I am trying to achieve.
I love that your style is modest, current, and feminine.
    Thank you,
    Suzanna

  17. Looks cute on you !- I remember the mid 80’s when I could and did rock all the jumpsuits – but 5 kids later? I’m little worried, I might not be able to pull it off!

  18. If I looked as cute as you do in one, then I might consider it:-) I remember wearing one WAAAAAY back when. I think I need to loose a few pounds before “jumping” into one of them…HAHAHA:-)

  19. Cindi, As they say, you rock that jumpsuit. Perfectly styled! Wouldn’t change a thing. As for me, my jumpsuit days are over! And being long waisted, wasn’t a big fan. I could ready your post fine today, thank you!

  20. I got tickled over the gal who said the jumpsuits remind her of garage mechanic…they kind of do! 🙂 However, that said, in my opinion adding some feminine accessories would help soften the look. I would certainly wear jumpsuits but true to my nature and style (Type 2), I’d have to soften the look with something pretty. Sally’s jumpsuit is a great example of making a jumpsuit look classy and feminine at the same time. I love the Scripture from Titus 2. What would we do without God’s grace!

  21. You look very cute but I’m not a fan of jumpsuits, on anyone really.

It might go back to when I was a kid, my Mom would never let me get a jumpsuit/overalls because of the extra work of basically taking off your top when you have to go to the bathroom… 🙂 Not sure but I just don’t find them attractive.

  22. Sorry for your technical troubles :/ – hopefully you don’t have something bothering you – I had a beautiful jumpsuit (back when they were popular the first time) and it looked amazing on me, I loved how it looked, but what a major PAIN!! I remember being at work, and having to undress every time I used the rest room….standing in the stall and thinking – why in the heck am I doing this!!!! Who designs these things (a man, no doubt) and thinking that no man would totally undress to use the restroom!!! That was it for me – I finally ended up giving it to good will because it was way way too much work!!

  23. Hi Cyndi, I really like the jumpsuit on you, althought I suspect you could possibly have gone down a size. I like it with wedges, but then I like everything with wedges. IMHO one thing that keeps us looking youthful is being open to trying the current fashions but restyling it to suit one’s self (which you do so well). I purchased a jumpsuit last summer (see link below), which I love and received several compliments on (I especially treasure the ones from younger women). I styled it with wedges, silver jewelry and a cropped denim jacket. Keep on doing what you are doing and inspiring us step out of our comfort zone.

    1. Hey Cindy,
I don’t think I could have gone down a size because of the bottom. I’m wearing a small. I’m smaller on top than on the bottom. 🙂
That jumpsuit is adorable!! Thank you for sharing.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. Hi Cyndi,
I can empathize with being more “blessed” on the bottom than on the top. I’m sure you are the best judge as to your size.
        Blessings to you.
        Cindy

  24. The jumpsuit looks great on you! I loved them several years & pounds ago, I just might try some on…as you said never say never 🙂 I look forward to your post each day! Thank you for all you do & helping me think outside the box with fashion…Although my hubby probably regrets me finding you!! LOL!

  25. Cyndi! I knew you would look so cute in this jumpsuit! I would style it with wedges and a long necklace too! You look great!

    1. She does look darling and I wish a jumpsuit would look darling on me but because of my baby weight (the baby is 13 now..13 YEARS) I would look like a gas station attendant. I wore them I. The 80’s too and I’m a bit in disbelief that they are back!

  26. I agree with no jumpsuit for me. I wore first time around plus I am long waisted & have bathroom issues. 🙂 cute on you as everything is!

  27. There are more “commercials” it seems. I like the outfit and I’m willing to give a jumpsuit a try as long as I don’t look dumpy in it. The neckline on yours keeps it feminine and makes it more attractive. I love the denim but I would probably look better in a black one . Who knows though until you try it. I had a jumper in the 8th grade! It was corduroy and zipped up the front and I absolutely loved it .

    1. Are you viewing on a mobile device? The website looks different and has many, many ads when I look at it on my cell phone, just for the past couple of days. But on my pc, it looks like it always used to look on my phone. I clicked the “request desktop site” box on my phone and now it is back to normal.

  28. Cindy
Just wanted let you know blog has colleges listed throughout.
    Never had this happen before.
    Thanks for all you do!
    Love jumpsuit!

  29. Not a jumpsuit fan. Been there done that, don’t want to go back.! While you look cute in it, I think it’s more appropriate for the younger girls.

  30. I’m so sorry that yesterday was so frustrating for you! Technology is great when it works and not so great when it doesn’t. I just bought a jumpsuit yesterday to wear when I go to NY this summer. It is a Calvin Klein and has a cream colored top and the bottom is black with wide legs. I think I am going to love it. I love your blog and your sweet spirit!

  31. Hi Cyndi. You look cute in your jumpsuit. I agree, I think I would like silver jewelry better with your outfit. Love your shoes too. 🙂 I too had trouble yesterday but thought it was a problem on my end. today, your post has four ads throughout … Just an FYI. Thx for appreciating your 8,000 readers!! Woo hoo… That’s a lot!! 🙂 have a blessed day!

  32. Cyndi, you always look lovely. However, some fashion should not be resurrected. This would look okay on a tween but not a grown women. Reminds me of something a garage mechanic would wear. Also as mentioned above inconvenient to wear all day. Love your blog and your fashion advice.

  33. I have had alot of days like yours, recently……no worries, life happens…….it works great today…….the jumpsuit looks cute but after wearing them in the past, not for me this time……sending you a big hug!

  34. Super cute but like someone above mentioned, going to the bathroom would be a pain, lol. Looks great on you.

  35. I love the look…. on you. I am 5’9 and very long-waisted, so a jumpsuit would definitely not work for me. I did try one once when I was back in college and it was very uncomfortable. For some reason, jumpsuit makers seem to forget that tall people might like these things as well but they need to be cut longer. Anyway, love all of the outfits that you have styled so far this spring. Keep up the good work.

  36. Hi Cindi! Yes! I have a black sleeveless jumpsuit that I bought from Target last year.
I love it an have worn it to several weddings. Here is the photo of me with my hubby, oldest son and his lovely bride. This was taken last summer in FT Meyers. My husband is a pastor, too and performed a beach wedding there. What do you think of this jumpsuit? This was for the rehearsal/dinner afterwards. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10202425620870980&l=e8104b3ee7

    1. that is adorable! I think we need the details on the jumpsuit as well as the sandals. I’m guessing you’re the sister? Love that pic.

      1. Awe! Thanks ladies! You are great for my ego! LOL! The jumpsuit is from Target. I bought it a few years ago, so I assume it is not longer available. The sandals are Crocs! I have some really cute sandals similar to my daughter in laws that I typically wear, but it was hard to walk in the sand with them on. My son (26) is on the far left, my daughter in law (23) and me/hubby….I have 4 sons, so have a very undeveloped sense of style/fashion etc. Cyndi has been such a help!

    2. Sally that jumpsuit is adorable!! I would never have thought it was from Target. You have a beautiful family!!!
So nice to meet another pastor’s wife. 🙂
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  37. In the mid to late 1970s, I wore a jumpsuit similar to this (and I was probably about your size). I even styled it with a wide belt. I just want to say that you look great in this jumpsuit but my jumpsuit days are long gone! You go, girl!!!!

  38. It’s so cute on you…but, honestly, as much as I go to the bathroom, I couldn’t imagine having to pull the jumpsuit up and down so many times in a day! Ha, ha! Becky B.

    1. Looks very cute on you! I like it but I won’t wear one because of the bathroom hassle! Especially in dirty public restrooms!!

      1. Daniella, your statement gave me a chuckle! I can just imagine having to use the public restroom & trying to keep all that material from not touching the floor, PLUS, doing all the “other” things you have to do when going potty!!
