Want a headboard? Paint one on to gussy up a guest bedroom without draining your finances or taking up space. Create your own design or download ours. (Tip: You only need half a stencil — you can flip it for the opposite side.) Trace the outline in pencil; fill in with a color of your choice. For a soothing look, try a tone-on-tone pairing, like the buttercup and cream used here.
To use our sketch, print out the headboard grid PDF and use it as a guideline. Next, print out the headboard stencil PDF and cut along the bold black lines. Arrange them on the wall where you'd like your headboard and tape up using painter's tape. Trace the outline lightly in pencil, then remove your stencil and flip over to form the opposite side. Once you've traced both sides, fill in with paint in a contrasting color to your wall. Let paint dry fully, then push your bed up against the wall. Sweet dreams.
