Adele, James Bay, Years & Years Lead the 2016 Brit Awards Noms; David Bowie Tribute Planned

Five years after her breakthrough performance at the Brit Awards, Adele will return to the O2 as the favorite to sweep the field: Tottenham’s favorite daughter leads the 2016 Brit Awards nominees, alongside James Bay and Years & Years, each of whom picked up four noms. Calvin Harris and newcomer Jess Glynne trail them with three noms each. Adele is up for Album of the Year, British Female Solo Artist, British Single, and British Video of the Year. She’s already been confirmed to perform at this year’s show, where she’ll hopefully continue to outstan the Barbz. Surprisingly, in one category, Adele will go up against Amy Winehouse, who has been posthumously nominated for British Female Solo Artist for the soundtrack to the Oscar-nominated documentary Amy. Plans are also currently under way for the night to feature a tribute to David Bowie, who died earlier this week. The Brits air February 24; see a full list of nominees below:
