A FUNDRAISING Channel swimmer will switch-on Silsden's Christmas lights.
Christine Bradley – who lives in the town – will perform the honours at a ceremony on Sunday, November 26.
In 2015, she was part of a four-strong team which crossed the Channel in relay.
And last year she completed a solo challenge, swimming over 40 miles due to tidal movements in just under 19 hours.
The swimming and fitness coach, who is currently in training for next year's Barcelona Ironman, has raised over £3,500 for pancreatic cancer research and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
She was a finalist in the Yorkshire Choice Awards sporting achievement category last year, just being pipped to top spot by the Brownlee brothers.
The lights switch-on will follow a Christmas market in the town hall and Briggate, which will be closed to traffic for the day.
More than 25 stalls are already booked for the market, which takes place between 10am and 4pm.
During the day a nativity group will visit Silsden's inns, in search of a room for Mary and Joseph.
Silsden Town Band will perform in the afternoon at the memorial gardens, where the switch-on is being held at 4.30pm.
Drystone Radio will broadcast live.
