synopsis3Cassie Johnson has a very unique gift. She can see the past, present, and future of people when she touches their hands. It is a gift she has had to deal with her whole life, and she has seen things she wished she hadn’t.

Because she already knows what her dates are thinking and feeling, what they’ve done in the past, what their near future holds, relationships are difficult to come by. It is something that would put anyone off.

She does like someone, though—very much. His name is Michael and he’s a police officer at the station where she works. The problem? He doesn’t bat an eyelid at her. In fact, she would go as far as saying that he hates her.

However, when a new officer, Stephen, joins the force and seems to sweep Cassie off her feet, all that changes. For some reason, she cannot read him, and he quickly becomes a mystery that she needs to solve. Michael, on the other hand, doesn’t like it one bit and, pretty soon, jealousy rears its ugly head, leaving Cassie confused and frustrated.

Later, Cassie learns a nasty secret, resulting in a shocking revelation regarding Michael and Stephen. Cassie soon realises that there are things beyond her world—beyond her imagination. Michael is her protector, her savior, her guardian. But can he keep her safe? Can she control her growing feelings for not only Michael, but Stephen? Can she make a choice? And will her choice result in the happily ever after she so desperately desires?

If I say: don’t bother?

Yeah… that sums it up.

I thought it was a menage… it was a love triangle

I thought it was erotic… it was a young adult kind of, no sex whatsoever

Wow! I do not even know where to start. But I think I will make it quick and short. Just writing this “review” to make sure that menage romances lovers will know what they get if they wish to read this story.

First thing that comes in my mind is: the author needs to learn quickly past, present and future tenses. She switches tenses mid-sentence. It is annoying. It looks like bipolarity.  In the same paragraph, I “hear” the heroine”s thought, and next sentence it is the author’s. #duh

You know what bothers me? I truly thought that along the way, a menage relationship was going to blossom. I was rolling my eyes with the 25 year old virgin character and waited for her to jump the bones of one or both characters… I waited… and waited… and waited and guess what? it never came! At the end of the book she is still not only a 25 years old virgin but the only sexual encounters she got were kisses. huhsmileyf3

Not only sex scenes never came (pun intended) but the character was a virgin tease. Each time they touched her (never together and several time each), she back paddled as fast as she could. And yes, they. She switched back and forth between both. Not even being equal to both. Poor guys, they held a boner for 213 pages! ouch!

The plot was original and this is why I gave a 2 stars versus a 1 star. I read a couple of angels menages but never angels that were more aliens than truly angels-bible like. It held promises but after the first 2 chapters it was redundant: I love them, I can’t love them because if I give my virginity to one I will be guilty to not give it to the other, I love them , I can’t love them because if I give my virginity they will abandon me behind, I love them,  I can’t love them because…. on and on and on and on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. th_shakinghead

The author included four separate dramas, because we all know that one well written is not enough: rape attempt, abduction, drug dealer and paranormal murderer.

Yes, I know this is a trilogy and I read only part 1.  But at the end of part one, one main character is out of the story, gone, finito, bye, adios… What? Not only it is a love triangle but one of the main character dies?

The heroine was childish, whinny, a teaser and looked like a teen who hesitated which one she liked the best. She played with both guy’s feelings. One guy made a mistake long ago and she play the holly than you card. She was not lovable at all, the guys were on the other hand okay.

Honest, this story must have been written for young adults with characters of 25 years old and more. #weird

When I came around page 200, I was like: “the menage sex scenes and luv-ya’s-back-at-ya were coming up!” …. wrong, dead wrong. The best friend turned to be a bitch murderer (saw the bitch part coming not the murderer so cookies for the author for that), one male dies (I take ALL the cookies back) and at the epilogue I learned that angels can have children and human parents so 4 parents (credibility zero).

Blurb and cover book fooled me BIG time. Obviously I made a big mistake in the categories because I do not have the same definition of romance then…

kindleguardians

No. Heck no! I did not like it. It held so many pet peeves of mine in it…. In all the years I reviewed I only said that once, now I can say twice: I will not even take a chance with book #2, probably not even the author.

As usual, it is my opinion here. I am obviously in the minority which is good and prove my point that one low rating review does not define a book or an author but if you wish to find hot sex, menage romance, run away because you will find any of that!
