09/07/2014 ~ #NicholasA – The Inevitables of Success. #9 - You Will Develop Weird Habits!

Going down the biography of one of the world’s heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, one of the striking part of his success work up was that “Mike became determined to learn everything he could about boxing, often slipping out of bed after curfew to practice punches in the dark ~ biography.com”. This for everyone is not a normal behavior.

One of the key signs that show you are actually working hard towards a goal is that your priority changes. You will discover that so many things that mattered before would be given a secondary place. You will sleep less than normal, you will spend more time lost in your thoughts as your mind try to figure out so many things, and sometimes even in the company of other people, you will have spontaneous moments of excitement often referred to as “the moment of genius or Eureka” which is a culmination point following a series of ideas, research and study.

During this moment of glory, everything suddenly makes sense and deeper insights into a sought after solution is achieved. According to some account, in Archimedes’ moment of genius, he was so eager to share his moment of realization the he leapt out of his bathtub and ran through the streets of Syracuse naked. This for certain, is not a normal behavior.

Brian Tracy once said “Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new”.  If you are hoping to always be “normal”, you cannot achieve something new. This is one of the sacrifices you must make to achieve your goals, and you don’t have to feel bad about it.

Alan Alda describes it as “leaving the city of your comfort and going into the wilderness of your Intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself”.

Only he who attempts the absurd is capable of achieving the impossible ~ Miguel de Unamuno.  If success is what you seek, it’s perfectly okay to be different at times – I mean weird.

Always remember, “Vision is not enough, it must be combined with venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs – even when others don’t feel comfortable about it” ~ Vaclav Havel.

Have a lovely Wednesday!
