Back in spring we reported New York’s most famous make-up artist Bobbi Brown is breaking into the eyewear market and now, she’s finally here.
Just as she took the beauty world by storm with neutral based make-up to suit different skin tones, she aims to take the mystery out of how to choose the right glasses for every woman regardless of age, skin tone and face shape.
Bobbi’s philosophy is every woman is beautiful – it’s not about covering up what you hate, but celebrating what you have.
As explained in the above video a simple style guide can be applied in choosing the right frames in three simple steps. First, choose your style – what kind of glasses do you want? Something classic, modern, on-trend or sporty? Next, think about your face shape. The general rule to be applied here is to go to the contrast of your face shape, rectangular frames for round face shapes and so on. Finally, think skin tone.
The ambitious eyewear range names each frame so we’ve decided to look at none other than the self-titled “the Bobbi” to give you a style lowdown.
“The Bobbi” is one of the modern styled frames from the collection and would fit face shapes that are oval, round and perhaps heart.
This particular frame comes in four different colours to either enhance your natural skin tone, or brighten your face. Sticking to the classic Black/Nude option above would suit many different skin tones, including paler skin tones that may find it harder to pull off thicker frames thanks to the nude colouring.
Another attractive aspect of the collection is the subtle branding detail; for those who aren’t a fan of big brash logos down the side of their frame’s arms Bobbi has hers hidden discreetly along the inside of the arms.
Other subtle branding details are the delicate line along the top and bottom of the arm with two silver studs, which is sometimes found on Bobbi’s cosmetic products too.
We’re in great hands considering Bobbi is the first ever successful make-up artist to design her own eyewear collection and is worth a huge $900 million. Known for her luxury cosmetics line, her range of glasses come at a moderate price that are available with prescription both in-store and online.
